Och-Ziff Africa unit pleads guilty to FCPA violation

( September 29, 2016, 22:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: OZ Africa Management, a subsidiary of Och-Ziff Capital Management, pleaded guilty on Thursday to one count of violating the anti-bribery provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. According to the plea agreement, officers and employees of the company conspired to bribe officials in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Justice Department recommended in the plea agreement that no monetary penalty be assessed against OZ Africa Management because a $213 million fine had been imposed on its parent in a deferred prosecution agreement.
