Nord Stream 1 pipeline remains shut down; technical issues cited

( September 2, 2022, 21:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Nord Stream 1, the pipeline bringing Russian gas to Germany, will not be reactivated after a three-day maintenance shutdown, state-owned Gazprom said on Twitter. The company cited an oil leakage during the maintenance that would make it impossible to ensure safe functioning. The impossibility to carry out an overhaul and to complete the return of gas turbines from outside Russian territory due to sanctions had already been cited as reasons for below-standard gas flows through the pipeline, which dropped to 40 percent capacity by mid-June, and then to 20 percent from July 27.Tweet follows....
