UK-Canada trade talks 'advanced,' says minister Fox

( June 28, 2019, 16:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK negotiations with Canada over a post-Brexit trade accord to replicate an EU-Canada agreement are "at an advanced stage," trade secretary Liam Fox has said. Some EU trade agreements have not been replicated as states have "not fully engaged" with the possibility of a no-deal Brexit, Fox said in a letter to lawmakers. Fox acknowledged that agreements with Norway and Switzerland don't fully replicate the effects of EU agreements due to a reliance on "some degree of equivalence or harmonisation with EU laws and systems."Statement follows.
