EU’s Ansip vows to fight national practices blocking data flow

( September 29, 2016, 09:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Tax, book-keeping and financial data should be able to move freely across EU country borders, Andrus Ansip, the bloc’s chief in charge of building a single market for online goods and services said today. Most national laws forcing companies to store data locally don't help protect personal information or the fight against security threats, he said. The EU will make proposals, later in the year, to combat unnecessary data localization requirements in the bloc’s member states, Ansip said....
