Meta Platforms in favor of consolidation of US lawsuits over allegations of defective, addictive products

( August 31, 2022, 22:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platform told the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation that it’s appropriate to consolidate 47 lawsuits filed across the US against it and other online platforms including TikTok, YouTube and Snap, over allegations that the apps are additives and harmful. Meta argued that multidistrict litigation for the lawsuits, if created, should take place in a centrally located district with pending cases and favorable docket conditions, including federal courts in Kentucky or alternatively Florida or Georgia.
