Oregon state legislator introduces bill to protect online privacy and data of state residents

( January 18, 2018, 12:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Oregon State Representative Jennifer Williamson, a Democrat from Portland, has filed a bill focused on protecting the data and privacy rights of Oregon residents online. The bill requires state agencies to  only purchase broadband access from providers in full compliance with net neutrality provisions, including transparency in network management practices, full access to websites and equal traffic speeds. The bill also prohibits broadband providers from disclosing, selling or permitting access to customers’ personal information without their consent, which customers can revoke at any time.Please see press release below:...
