EU lawmakers adopt stance on draft law to make building sector climate-neutral by 2050

( March 14, 2023, 17:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Parliament today adopted its position on draft EU measures to substantially reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and energy consumption in the building sector by 2030 and to make it climate neutral by 2050. The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive is part of the European Commission's Fit for 55 environmental package and intends for residential buildings to reach certain energy performance classes by 2030 and 2033. Non-residential buildings must make similar changes to reach deadlines of 2027 and 2030. EU lawmakers will soon begin negotiations with EU governments on a final shape of the directive.Press release follows....
