​DOJ to seek to enforce settlement in Magnitsky-related forfeiture

( October 30, 2017, 23:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice said that it will take action to enforce a payment of $5.89 million to settle a forfeiture case related to a tax fraud that resulted in the death of the Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky. DOJ said that the settlement agreement required that Prevezon Holdings pay soon after a hold on related funds in the Netherlands was released, but prosecutors said that the Dutch had imposed a new hold on the funds because of a recent money laundering action there. DOJ said that Prevezon is still obligated to pay by Oct. 31, despite Prevezon's citing of the Dutch action as cause for delay.See document below....
