CFTC proposes uncleared swaps margin rule for cross-border trades

( June 29, 2015, 20:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission proposed margin requirements for uncleared derivatives transactions in the context of international trades. The proposal, which seeks public comment, is a fragment of the CFTC’s pending October 2014 proposal on margin for uncleared swaps. Monday’s proposal would apply to about 40 of the 100 registered swap dealers, with the remainder covered by US banking agencies. It would allow some entities to defer to comparable rules of foreign jurisdictions in certain circumstances, a concept known as substituted compliance.Statement follows in full. ...
