German Federal Government: The future of Opel

( June 2, 2009, 11:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The conceptual framework agreement signed by Opel and Magna deals with issues such as intellectual property rights and the market access for the cars manufactured in Europe. Opel will have to offer securities for Germany’s aid package, which will come from the Federal government, and the states of Hessen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Thüringen. If an agreement is finalised, the Federal government together with the states will provide an additional medium term loan worth 4.5 billion euros (including the 1.5 billion euros made available for bridge financing).The full statement follows (in German):...
