McGraw-Hill, Barnes & Noble, others say students can't bring antitrust claims over course materials

( December 4, 2020, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: McGraw-Hill Global Education, Barnes & Noble and others being accused by students of conspiring to limit the market for high education course materials have moved for a US federal judge to dismiss. “Despite student plaintiffs’ claim that Inclusive Access programs force them to pay more for course materials, the lengthy complaint provides not a single example of course materials purchased through an Inclusive Access program that cost more than the same course materials outside of Inclusive Access,” they said. The students claim that the defendants developed Inclusive Access, a digital subscription service, which forces students to buy their materials from defendant retailers, allowing them to charge higher prices.See document below. ...
