FTC lawyers seek order for Meta to meet to lay out plans to litigation move to re-open 2020 privacy settlement

( April 10, 2024, 23:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Staff of the US Federal Trade Commission have asked the full Commission to order Meta Platforms to submit to a 90-day period where it would discuss the path forward in the FTC's move to reopen a 2020 privacy settlement with the social media giant. The proposed order would require Meta to meet with FTC lawyers tp "identify any factual disputes requiring resolution, and submit a joint proposed scheduling order" for how the proceeding should proceed, including whether an evidentiary hearing is necessary; whether the Commission or an Administrative Law Judge should preside over it.See attached document....
