Chicken buyers file US antitrust lawsuit against several broiler suppliers in Illinois

( May 18, 2021, 23:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs S&S Trading, Springfield Grocer Co. and Topco Associates brought an antitrust lawsuit against a number of suppliers of broilers, including Koch Foods, Perdue Farms and Tyson Foods, for allegedly conspiring to fix prices. Using two prongs, the defendants first restricted the supply of chickens in the market and later conspired to illegally increase and maintain chicken prices by manipulating and artificially inflating prices on the “Georgia Dock” — a widely used weekly benchmark price, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.See attached document....
