Meta’s interoperability offer needs WhatsApp users to give ‘active opt-in consent,’ EU telecom regulators say

However, it remains unclear for BEREC in what way such an opt-in could be given and how this should be implemented at a technical level. The European Commission is assessing whether Meta, which is a gatekeeper under the DMA, is complying with the rule’s Article 7, which imposes an interoperability obligation on gatekeepers that provide number-independent interpersonal communications services, such as WhatsApp.Full statement is below and opinion is attached....
