US judge grants government's request to exclude Obama, Trump from defense testimony in Pras Michel's 1MDB trial

( March 6, 2023, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly granted the goverment's request to exclude defense testimony from former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, and former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, from the upcoming trial of rapper Pras Michel, who is accused of undisclosed lobbying relating to a corruption probe of Malaysian sovereign wealth fund 1MDB. The judge had held the rest of the government's request in abeyance, but then granted it in a separate order in which she also granted former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson's move to quash a subpoena for his testimony.See documents below....
