Telecom operator Meo fined by Portuguese antitrust watchdog

( December 3, 2020, 16:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meo has received an 84 million-euro antitrust fine from the Portuguese competition watchdog for market sharing and price fixing of mobile and fixed telecom services with Nowo Communications. Nowo agreed not to compete with MEO for mobile services in Lisbon and Porto, to restrict prices for its mobile offers, and to raise prices and reduce the quality of bundled offers of fixed and mobile services. The anticompetitive conduct followed the conclusion of a virtual network operator contract between the companies, the regulator said.Press release follows....
