Cypriot authority to conduct follow-up GDPR compliance checks

( October 11, 2019, 13:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Cypriot data protection commissioner will carry out on-the-spot checks at the country's public authorities, to determine their compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, after it questioned the governing bodies about their implementation of the GDPR. Of all 89 authorities that responded to the questionnaire, some 97 percent said they appointed a designated data protection officer, but only 65 percent of them posted this information online, and some 41 percent had a privacy policy on their website.Statement follows in Greek....
