Microsoft to allow EU customers to store, process data in the bloc

( May 6, 2021, 17:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Microsoft has said it will allow EU customers of its cloud services — Azure, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 — to store and process their data within the 27-member bloc. The plan — the EU Data Boundary for the Microsoft Cloud — will be ready by the end of next year after all engineering work has been completed, it said. The company has already started engineering work so its cloud services will both store and process in the EU all personal data of its EU commercial and public-sector customers, if they choose to do so. The offer follows the EU's highest court annulment last year of the EU-US Privacy Shield, the main agreement for transatlantic data flows, which was found to be in violation of the bloc's data protection rules.Statement follows....
