Ticketmaster, Live Nation must face Songkick antitrust case, judge says

( October 16, 2017, 20:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US District Judge Dale S. Fischer has denied Ticketmaster and Live Nation's motion for summary judgment in an antitrust case brought by Songkick. Fischer said that Songkick has sufficiently alleged that the exclusive contracts entered into by Ticketmaster and venues, while voluntary on both sides, may harm competition "because the structure of those contracts undermines the incentive of the venues to keep fees down." Though Songkick's expert makes an "unprecedented" legal argument, Fischer said that it is viable and should be tested in court. See document below. ...
