Ex-AIG Chief Executive Greenberg to face New York fraud trial

( June 2, 2016, 20:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Maurice Greenberg, the former head of American International Group, must stand trial in New York over state charges of financial fraud and manipulation from 2000 to 2005, the New York Court of Appeals ruled Thursday. The court also ruled that New York state could seek to recover millions of dollars in bonuses covering the period when the alleged fraud occurred. The federal government bailed out the New York-based insurance company in 2008 to prevent bankruptcy in the midst of the financial crisis.See document below....
