Mobile operators urge EU legislators to repeal privacy rules for telecom industry

In their talks on the new EU data-protection rules, national governments, the European Parliament and the European Commission should consider the inconsistency between the draft legislation and the bloc’s ePrivacy directive, said the association of which represents the interests of mobile phone operators and the broader industry. It would be better to repeal the ePrivacy law rather than start a “lengthy review” of it, the association said.Full statement follows:...
