Mobile operators urge EU legislators to repeal privacy rules for telecom industry

( June 15, 2015, 15:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Privacy rules for Europe’s telecom industry should be repealed urgently, the GSM Association has said. In their talks on the new EU data-protection rules, national governments, the European Parliament and the European Commission should consider the inconsistency between the draft legislation and the bloc’s ePrivacy directive, said the association of which represents the interests of mobile phone operators and the broader industry.
