French telecom regulator advises to free up 1.5 GHz spectrum band for 5G usage

( June 11, 2019, 16:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: French telecom regulator Arcep has published guidelines on releasing the 1.5 GHz spectrum band for the use of 5G mobile networks. The band can be used for a high volume of data downloads, as well as nationwide and indoor coverage, the regulator said in a statement. The objective, set at the European level, is to make it available for mobile networks by 2023. The band is currently being used by ministries in France.Statement follows....
