BCBS accuses Michigan anesthesiology group of illegally keeping prices high

( April 30, 2021, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Blue Cross Blue Shield has filed counterclaims accusing Anesthesia Associates of Ann Arbor (A4) of maintaining an illegal monopoly through non-compete and no-poach agreements, resulting in inflated anesthesiology prices in Michigan. “On multiple occasions, A4 has demanded higher prices for anesthesiology services with the threat to disrupt the supply of anesthesiology services to BCBSM-insured patients if BCBSM did not comply,” it argued.
