China to trial high-precision maps for smart connected vehicles in six cities

( August 3, 2022, 10:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China will trial the application of high-precision maps for smart connected vehicles in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Chongqing, according to a notice issued recently by China’s Ministry of Natural Resources. Companies involved in the pilot projects need to strengthen the security and confidentiality management of collection, convergence, processing and use of geographical information, and draft and implement contingency plans to tackle security incidents. They also need to assure pilot activities will not jeopardize the security of national geographical information, the notice said. The regulator has yet to publish the full text of the notice.
