Brazilian watchdog rejects taxi associations' allegation that Uber complaint lacks evidence

( May 31, 2016, 17:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Brazilian antitrust agency has rejected a request by taxi associations Sinpetaxi-DF and Sincavir-MG for a finding that allegations against them by Uber and Brasília-based university students aren't backed by evidence. The agency also rejected allegations that Uber’s complaint should be disregarded because the company offers ‘illegal services.’ Uber and university students in Brasília have accused the two associations and their presidents of engaging in abusive conduct to exclude Uber from the market in Brazil. The regulator also accepted requests to hear three witnesses chosen by Sinpetaxi-DF and its president, as well as three witnesses chosen by Sincavir-MG and its president.OJ statement follows in Portuguese....
