Japanese companies received highest number of guidance notices for suspected subcontract-law breaches in first half

( November 18, 2020, 05:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese companies faced a high level of corrective recommendations and guidance for suspected breaches of the subcontract law in the first half of this fiscal year, according to a report by the Japan Fair Trade Commission published today.  In its enforcement report on the subcontract law in the first half of fiscal 2020, the JFTC said that it had issued three corrective recommendations and 5,269 cases of guidance in the April- September period this year, amid the lingering impact of Covid-19. The number of guidance notices in the first half was the highest on record for this period, according to the JFTC. Some suspected violations were linked to the spread of the novel coronavirus, such as an order cancellation without payment to a subcontractor, the regulator's report said.
