CADE Tribunal Councilor Hoffmann assigned to review Hapvida-Plamed deal

( August 2, 2022, 14:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Brazilian competition authority Councilor Luiz Augusto Azevedo de Almeida Hoffmann has been assigned to review healthcare plan operator Hapvida's planned purchase of certain assets from rival Plamed, according to a statement. The Superintendence of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense, or CADE, last week said the deal shouldn't be approved as is and that structural remedies in the healthcare plan market are hard to implement. Hoffmann will bring the case to a ruling session after he finishes his analysis.OJ statement follows in Portuguese....
