UK Financial Services Authority: FSA publishes amount of redress paid to PPI complainants in first half of 2011

( August 30, 2011, 13:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK’s Financial Services Authority has revealed 16 firms paid out a total of 215 million pounds compensation to consumers who were missold payment protection insurance in the first half of 2011. The redress - including ex-gratia payments and cases settled by the Ombudsman – saw 102 million pounds spent in May and June after the failure of the industry’s legal challenge to regulators.
