CCIA backs Amex in Supreme Court case over anti-steering rules

( January 23, 2018, 21:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Computer & Communications Industry Association has filed an amicus brief in support of American Express in an antitrust case over its anti-steering rules. The CCIA argues that constraints on all sides of a multi-sided firm should be considered when analyzing if a plaintiff has made out a prima facie case of anticompetitive conduct. Otherwise, courts and enforcers will have a limited understanding of the competitive dynamics that impact all sides of a multi-sided firm and risk “condemning pro-competitive conduct that benefits consumers, potentially stifling innovation,” according to the group.See document below....
