Industry praises committee's backing of electric-vehicle charging points in non-residential buildings

( October 11, 2017, 08:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Today's vote by the Members of the European Parliament's industry committee, in favor of electric-vehicle charging points to become mandatory in all new non-residential buildings, is "crucial," said climate-change NGO Bellona on behalf of the Platform for Electro-Mobility. Parliamentarians also proposed simplifying procedures for permitting new charging points in existing buildings. But they removed provisions that would allow charging to respond directly to price signals and also failed to address interoperability issues, Bellona policy manager Teodora Serafimova added.
