Belgian credit institution gets GDPR fine

( April 26, 2021, 15:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An unnamed Belgian credit institution has been fined 100,000 euros by the national data protection authority, for violating the GDPR. One of its employees, who was the ex-spouse of the data subject, had illegally accessed personal information registered in the Central Individual Credit Register of the Belgian National Bank, the regulator said. The authority said it was the credit institution's responsibility, because it had failed to provide adequate sufficient technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access.The decision is attached (in French). ...
