Spain failed to claw back state aid for digital terrestrial TV in Castilla-La Mancha, EU court says

( April 29, 2021, 09:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission today scored a victory at the EU's top court, which found that Spain had failed to recover illegal public subsidies of 46 million euros, granted in the Castilla-La Mancha region to support the deployment of digital terrestrial TV outside cities. In a ruling handed down by the bloc's Court of Justice this morning, judges said that Spain had failed to take all necessary measures to comply with the commission's 2014 decision, which ordered the clawback of the aid from the main beneficiary, Telecom Castilla-La Mancha. In October that year, the commission said that the measure breached the principle of technological neutrality because it only favored terrestrial digital technology.The ruling is attached (in French). ...
