California opposes immediate Supreme Court review of DACA injunction

( January 22, 2018, 20:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The State of California and other plaintiffs who won a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking the Trump administration's termination of protection for young undocumented immigrants said they oppose an immediate appeal to the Supreme Court while the case is just getting underway at the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. While agreeing the fate of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program is important, "the present circumstances are not so extraordinary" as to justify bypassing the appellate court, they said. At the same time, the California plaintiffs offered to file a reply brief by Feb. 2, roughly half the time normally allotted and only a few days more than the Trump administration requested in a motion to expedite the Supreme Court's decision on hearing the appeal.See document below....
