Meta says US FTC case against Within Unlimited deal wrong on facts, law

( July 27, 2022, 20:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platforms issued a statement regarding the US Federal Trade Commission's challenge to its acquisition of Within Unlimited, saying it is based on ideology and speculation, not evidence. It argued that in a space with as much entry and growth as online and connected fitness, it is not credible that the acquisition would lead to anticompetitive outcomes. “By attacking this deal in a 3-2 vote, the FTC is sending a chilling message to anyone who wishes to innovate in VR. We are confident that our acquisition of Within will be good for people, developers and the VR space,” Meta said.Statement follows in full. ...
