Pandora should have full access to ASCAP repository, says DOJ

( March 6, 2015, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice filed a letter with the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit explaining that the consent decree governing the licensing activities of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers does not permit ASCAP to accept partial grants of public performance rights. The DOJ says that despite the fact that some publishers withdrew their grant to ASCAP of the right to license their works to “new media,” ASCAP is still required to provide Pandora with a license to all of the works in its repository. See document below. ...
