Amazon, Apple face amended complaint adding new named plaintiffs in US antitrust case

( May 7, 2024, 19:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Amazon and Apple have been hit with a second amended complaint that adds new plaintiffs — Jolene Furdek and Jonathan Ryan — in the case filed by Steven Floyd accusing the companies of forming an unlawful horizontal agreement to eliminate or at least substantially reduce the competitive threat posed by third-party merchants. The plaintiffs are seeking damages and injunctive relief on behalf of a proposed class made up of: "All persons and entities who, as residents of the United States and during the period of January 1, 2019, to the date of class notice, purchased any new iPhone or iPad from the Buy Box on Amazon.com." See document below....
