Russian nuclear fuel transport bribery trial reset for Oct. 29

( May 24, 2019, 20:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US federal judge in Maryland has ordered the trial of Mark T. Lambert, a former executive accused of bribing a Russian official to secure contracts to transport nuclear fuel, continued to Oct. 29. Lambert had been scheduled to face trial in June, but his defense said it needed more time to review a large delivery of discovery material from the US Justice Department and to assess a change in the indictment. "These belated and larger than anticipated document productions and the material change to the Indictment require significant attention from the Defense," the US District Judge Theodore  D. Chuang said. "The fact that, at this late date, the Government saw the need to expand the period of the conspiracy by two years from the previously narrowed time period contradicts its argument that such a change is of no significance."Please see attached order....
