World Trade Organization Statement: Dispute Settlement - WTO adopts reports on steel fastener anti-dumping case

( July 28, 2011, 15:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The dispute settlement body today ruled in favour of China by adopting two reports which reviewed antidumping measures taken by the European Union on chinese imports of certain iron and steel products. The reports highlight that the individual treatment regime laid down in article 9.5 of the EU's basic antidumping regulation was both “as such” and “as applied” inconsistent with WTO law as it required suppliers from certain WTO members, such as China, to meet additional conditions before they could qualify for individual treatment and be granted an individual duty and dumping margin.28 July 2011...
