Google declares support for Global Cross Border Privacy Rules system

( July 18, 2022, 18:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google said it will join the recently launched Global Cross Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) system, saying the international global privacy certification system could provide a counterbalance to the growing list of governments putting restrictions on international data flows. "As governments explore new rules governing data transferred abroad, there is an unprecedented need for global, interoperable solutions," Keith Enright, Google's chief privacy officer, said in a blog post. "Companies, governments, and policymakers must work together to create new legal and technical tools, set out interoperability standards, and most importantly, align on new frameworks to maintain both privacy and essential data flows."See Google blog post originally published here....
