Chilean Supreme Court blocks Latam joint business agreements with American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia

( May 23, 2019, 19:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Chilean Supreme Court has blocked Latam Airlines' joint business agreements to deepen its ties with American Airlines Group and International Airlines Group’s British Airways and Iberia — all members of the Oneworld Alliance, according to a court decision today. In November 2018, Chile's national competition authority, the Fiscalía Nacional Económica, or FNE, appealed the ruling of the Tribunal for the Defense of Free Competition Tribunal, or TDLC, approving the airline deal with conditions to the Supreme Court. The high court found that the remedies imposed on the airlines by the TDLC aren't sufficient to mitigate competition concerns with the deal.See Supreme Court decision and FNE press release below....
