Newscom signed a contract worth some 2 billion won ($1.79 million) with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering when Nam Sang-tae headed Daewoo between 2009 and 2011. The paycheck Newscom received from Daewoo was worth far more than what the agency had provided in services. Prosecutors said that Nam gave money to Park in order to serve consecutive terms at Daewoo since Park was known to have very close connections with politicians and Min Yoo-sung, the former chairman of Korea Development Bank. ...
