Essilor, Luxottica still expect to close merger by year-end

( September 26, 2017, 17:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Essilor International and Luxottica Group still expect to close their merger "around the end of the year," the eyewear companies said in a statement. The European Commission today opened an in-depth probe into the merger, which the companies said it was expected given their size. They said they are confident the review will be completed in a timely manner and will closely cooperate with the European Commission. The companies said the deal has been unconditionally cleared so far in Russia, India, Colombia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, South Africa and South Korea.See statement in full below....
