Huawei says it's trying to 'mitigate' effects of US government ban on supplies

( May 21, 2019, 11:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Abraham Liu, Huawei's chief representative to the EU, said the Chinese company is doing "everything we can" to mitigate the effects of the US government's decision to put the company on the commerce department’s export blacklist, making it difficult for US companies to supply Huawei. The US government has also pressured EU governments to stop Huawei from equipping telecom operators with 5G gear because of worries the Chinese company would be obliged to cooperate on espionage with the Chinese government. Liu said Huawei understands European governments' security concerns and is ready to sign "no-spy agreements" with EU governments.Speech follows....
