Australian competition regulator takes legal action against We Buy Houses and Rick Otton

( March 3, 2015, 05:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, or ACCC, announced on March 3 that it has begun proceedings in the Federal Court against We Buy Houses Pty Ltd and Rick Otton for alleged contraventions of the Australian Consumer Law. The alleged conduct includes several representations made to consumers that, by attending seminars and boot camps, consumers would be taught strategies to enable them to, for example, buy a house for A$1, buy a house using little or none of their own money, or build property portfolios without their own money invested and without new bank loans. The matter is listed for a directions hearing in Sydney on April 1.The regulator's statement can be found here....
