Ericsson bid for preliminary injunction against ASUSTeK denied by Unified Patent Court

By Inbar Preiss ( October 15, 2024, 16:23 GMT | Insight) -- Telecommunications giant Ericsson was denied a request by for a preliminary injunction by the Unified Patent Court’s Lisbon Local Division that would halt allegedly patent-infringing activity by ASUSTeK and its intermediaries, with the court citing Ericsson’s lack of urgency in seeking relief. In the same ruling, however, the UPC said Ericsson is likely to prevail on its infringement case against ASUSTeK based on ASUSTeK’s maintenance of a website that sells potentially unlicensed products.The Unified Patent Court’s Lisbon Local Division declined to grant Ericsson a preliminary injunction against ASUSTeK Computer Inc., a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, and intermediaries Digital River Ireland Ltd. and Arvato Netherlands B.V....
