NSO Group faces skepticism over claim of immunity from US lawsuits

Facebook, which sued after the firm allegedly took advantage of a WhatsApp bug, told judges today that NSO is just another for-profit company. “Shouldn’t we have some sort of a signal from the State Department, from the executive branch?” asked one appeals court judge during oral argument.Attorneys for an Israeli maker of software associated with government surveillance of private citizens encountered skepticism in US court today when it argued that it's protected by legal doctrine shielding foreign governments from lawsuits....
