Spanish Competition Authority: Resolution on 10-year compulsory building-insurance cartel

( November 19, 2009, 15:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Spanish competition authority has published its decision to fine six insurance and reinsurance companies a total 120 million euros for collusion. The resolution sets out the evidence against the companies, but also reveals the dissenting opinion of the body's deputy chairman. Some of the evidence was not convincing, and the decision failed to show the effects the alleged cartel had on the market and the benefit to the participants, he believes.
