UK audit watchdog says ESG now integrated into supervisory activities

( January 30, 2023, 11:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK’s audit watchdog today said that environmental, social and governance, or ESG, considerations have now been integrated into all its supervisory activities, for example reviewing in audit inspections how climate change had been considered in risk assessment procedures. In a statement of intent, the Financial Reporting Council said it will develop guidance on the distribution and consumption of ESG data, as well as an update to its Guidance on the Strategic Report. Later this year, the regulator will publish a thematic report on metrics and targets for four key industries as part of a finance ministry plan to develop a framework for climate transition plans.Statement below and report attached....
