​ACCC refuses interim nod for banks’ talks with Apple

( August 19, 2016, 02:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission has declined to grant interim authorization for a number of banks — Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac Banking Corp, National Australia Bank, and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank — to collectively bargain with and boycott activities with Apple over its e-commerce Apple Pay platform and with other third-party wallet providers. The commission said it needed more time to study the request, which was made on July 26.
