EU still faces diverging energy prices across countries, ACER says

( October 26, 2020, 22:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Energy bills are still very different across EU countries and prices for households increased "significantly" in 2019, the EU agency for the cooperation of energy regulators ACER said in its latest report. Gas for industrial use, which saw an exceptional price decrease, was an exception, the report said. Comparison tools and smart meters are essential to energy consumers, ACER said, but their presence varies across the bloc potentially hampering consumers' ability to opt for better prices and services.
